NEW MUSIC // ALBUM UPDATE

Just finished my last track on the album, this is an incredible project and I'm really excited to release it.

If "Five For 5" was the butter bread this album would be the T bone steak, string beans and mash potatoes  haha 

I really dug deep with this album, I kept it real soulful, and lyrical.

I kept the concepts together and I took it back to my grass roots.

Unlike "Five for 5" which was an experimental conceptual project this album is something that I would let my grandma listen too, I'm really proud of this project.

Right now its in its mixing stage, I want to take my time and mix it properly with analog equipment to give it an more vintage feel, as time progress you will understand what that mean.

So far I released two offering s off the project "HURTFUL" & "BLESSED" which are doing very very well on the streaming charts, better than I expected and I appreciate all the love support and purchases.  

You guys support is really what keeps me pushing to make great music even with the busy schedule i currently have.

The next offering is called "GLORY'' look out for it in the next few days. 

 

The Journey

This project is very special to me, it's based during a time period where I was heavily inspired by UK & Brooklyn Drill.

 Pop smoke was alive when I started writing this album which originally was called "Elderts Lane Demo Tape" or "Elderts Lane To Queens Express Way" 

 Pop smokes death was a huge blow to the Brooklyn Drill movement, I wanted to pay homage to this movement by naming my project after the street that merges Queens & Brooklyn, I also use to hang out in East New York in my teens.

My writing process started mid 2019. The first track I wrote was "Smooth Operator" & "Two Step" Both very aggressive tracks. I wrote 10 more aggressive tracks including "High Fashion" & "Robbery". 

Overtime my taste pallet grew, I wanted to experiment with the drill sound, add some soul samples, add some feminine energy, so I started writing love songs a few songs about sexual desires, I wrote a few positive anthems as well.  Before I knew it I had a huge project with over 25 tracks. Hint the name 5 for 5. 

I took 5 tracks from the 25 that were in their demo form and constructed an epic story that's both sexy and edgy, this project isn't for weak hearted. 

I'm speaking some real shit and I didn't want to hold back.

I added one more track to glue the album together but it's still 5 for 5 haha or should I have made it 5 for 6. Lol 

Countless nights driving around listening to this project in it's early form, writing up ideas. 

I had this project mixed by 8 different mixers, and wasn't happy with any of their mixes, this failure pushed me to start learning to become a better mixer, I took 6 months off to study and intern with engineers and learn how to mix properly. 

It paid off.

Purpose + Goals for this Blog

The purpose of this blog is to escape the confinements of popular social media platforms 

(Instagram, Twitter, TicTok, etc) 

 I feel that in the golden age of social media ( Myspace , Sconex, Hi5)  real life interactions were an priority and social media was a tool to help enhance creativity, social outreach and overall encouragement to people on an local and international scale. 

Not to say people don't continue that path, but the trend of " I can do it better" overshadows the people who really put their blood sweat and tears into their craft (creative purpose). 

I myself find minutes if not hours lost in my day on social media, not really finding much creative inspiration, but more so sexual desires and or trendy topics that consumes not only time but chemically alters my (our) way of thinking. 

I'm not here to judge other individuals paths but from my own experience, I made an conscious decision to grow from popular social media platforms and take an old school approach, and create an safe haven, a place where like minded individuals can come and enjoy hand picked moments in time. 

As of today July 12th my main goal is to focus on Quality rather than Quantity, and I promise to not put out any content that i myself wouldn't love. 

I hope this blog grows and become what It can be.
